Last Post Frae Scotland

Hello, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is Friday, the 25th of November. And while we haven't yet posted of our adventures in Europe over the last month, today is the day we return to America.

Thursday, the 24th, was our last bike ride through Glasgow (for now!), and it was COLD!! The temperature was -4C!

We were treated to a beautiful sunrise original the fog as we rode over the River Clyde...

And then through Kelvingrove Park...

Sunrise over the frosty grass...

We spent the day at the College of Piping and sat our Grade Four SQA exam - we think we passed, but it'll be a few weeks before we have the results. We sure will miss our excellent pipe instructor, Willie Morrison:

Then our final ride over the River Clyde, in the dark...

And home to Jennifer's where we had a brilliant fish-and-chip supper for Thanksgiving dinner!

Jennifer is in the center, her son Oliver to her left, and then Jed (Oliver's friend) at the right of the pictures.

We spent most of the night packing bikes and boxes and pipes ... And soon we're away to the airport.

We'll see you all soon.

Getting Closer to America...

Hi, Gang!

Sorry we've been quiet again for a while. We've been in Amsterdam and Germany for the last four weeks or so. We've stayed with friends from when Melinda lived in Amsterdam in high school, and in Germany we stayed with friends we met at the Glasgow Fiddle Workshop.

We'll do our best to update the pages with stories of our European adventure ... When we can!

Today (Monday, the 14th) we head back to the UK on the ferry. We'll be in Edinburgh for a few days for the Scots Fiddle Festival, and then to Glasgow on the 21st for more piping tuition, to sit our piping exams, collect a few more souvenirs, and to tuck into our last dose of fish and chips!

On Friday, the 25th, we head back to America. It's a little hard to believe that it's already time to head back across the pond... We'll be there in less than two weeks from now! We've been traveling for 16 months or so, and while sometimes it's challenging we've become quite accustomed to it. It's been a grand adventure and we're sorry to see it end, but we also realize that when we return we'll begin even more adventures.

We miss our friends and family "back home" and we look forward to seeing everyone again, that's for sure.

Anyway, we'll land in Seattle on the 25th, and we'll be in Washington and Oregon for a couple weeks. Then we'll head to Bozeman or we'll head to Salt Lake for a few days. We'll be sure to let you all know once we have it sorted.

Take good care everyone, and we'll see you soon.
